LTW's metering software can automatically collect meter data from smart meters.
A simplified metering process is illustrated below, with standard metering software features listed in blue
and advanced features listed in brown.
Users can monitor, manage and analyze meter data and track meter status online from anywhere through cloud-based applications.
Meter data are commonly transmitted using communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, HTT, FTP or Web service protocols.
The data are uploaded to LTW's cloud data center using meters' built-in gateways or through an external gateway.
In the case that an external gateway is required, we offer an in-house developed program called csAdaptor (Cloud Submetering Adaptor program) that can be installed on
a local computer at the tenant building to act as a gateway. Using csAdaptor also allows local data backup in case of communication disruptions between the tenant building network and outside world.
Meter data can be exported/downloaded or uploaded in CSV files through Web application or using an FTP server.
In addition to standard metering tools for data transfer, management and monitoring, advanced users can utilize the data validation, estimation and edit (VEE) tool to identify and correct erroneous meter readings.
This feature is very useful for meter engineers when troubleshooting meter hardware or software malfunctions.
The data VEE tool is also beneficial for billing companies to estimate electricity, gas, water consumptions when valid data are not available (due to meter malfunctions,
communication issues...etc) and prevent delays in monthly utility bill generation.
Virtual meter is a feature developed by LTW to provide flexible grouping of various meters.
A simple example is grouping electricity meters from a single floor to compare electricity consumption of each floor in a building.
